It was great to do the 8.15 mile run with my Husband.  Jonathan was very encouraging, and just the right amount of push. The Challenge this week focus on Believe. On monday I was suppose to spoil myself. i had originally thought of doing a yoga class but after the run I was so tired all I wanted to do was sleep. So I spoiled myself with a nice long nap.
On tuesday I was to mediate for at least 5 minutes. I loved this, I just spent some quite time in prayer and mediation on the Promises that my God has given me.  On Wednesday I had to be happy, I while I am a pretty happy person most all the time, the ones that make me most happy are my kids and hubby so just spent extra time making them happy which in turn makes me very happy as well. On thursday I was suppose to be thankful, I have so much to be thankful a loving supportive husband, Happy healthy kids, our home our dog
these are just a few of the blessings I have to count.  Day 5 was show some love to your number 1 supporter and if you don't already know that person is my husband.  He always sports me inn all I want to do. This challenge has been so much fun, Learned so much too. Till next time........

Nourish!!!

This week was all about Nourishing your body!!!!! I really truly enjoyed this week. I learned some new recipes and tried going raw for a whole day, which by the way is not as hard as I thought it would be.  We as a family have actually been trying to eat healthier, or more like my husband and I have been trying and the kids well they just have to go along with it because they have no other option.  Luckily the kids are not too picky when it comes to foods, they like veggies and just about love any fruit I offer them.  What I like most about this week challenges was just learning different and new recipes to try.
To recap what I did this week,  Day 1 Meatless Monday!!! I had to go vegetarian for the day. This was not too hard as we don't eat meat too often anymore. We try to stick to more of a plant based diet and occasionally eat meat maybe like twice a week and mainly fish.  I had cereal for breakfast and for lunch a cucumber and tomato sandwich, then for dinner I made us veggie burritos.  My kids love when I make them burritos. I cooked the beans from a bag too. I always cook my own beans its cheaper and I know my family isn't getting tons of salt and preservatives.
Day 2 Take Your Lunch to Work Day!!! Well since I don't work I am a Stay At HOme Mom, I just chose to make my lunch before hand so that it would be ready for me after my workout at the gym. I made this very yummy Quinoa fried rice.  http://www.movenourishbelieve.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/quinoa_04.jpg   er
Day 3 Journal Your Food!!! I Journal my food intake for the day!!! I had Rasin bran for breakfast with and apple and almond milk.  Snacked on some almonds through out the day handful between meals. Lunch I had leftover Quinoa Fried rice and a veggie salad Then dinner I had spagatti and salad with my kids
Day 4 Smoothie Day!!!! My kids love smoothies I almost always make one after we get home from the gym. Today I decided to try something new I had bought some mango chunks at the store and combined that with some acai juice, almond milk, a frozen banana. It was super. It didn't look very pretty, kinda had a light brown color to it but tasted really good. The kids loved it too.
Day 5 RAW FRIDAY!!! I honestly thought going raw for a whole day would be really really hard, but it was awesome I might do it once a week.  I made cold oats the night before for breakfast with almonds and raspberries. For lunch and dinner I my really big veggie salad with cucumber and tomatoes and broccoli and squash and of course lettuce.  We I found my self hungry I made smoothie for snack and carrot stick and celery with peanut butter were awesome.
Well I hope you enjoy reading my adventure and try something new you might just love it!!!

MOVE

This week has been rather long for me and my family.  Lately my hubby Jon has been picking up extra shifts so its been just me and the three little monkeys.  I decided awhile back, before my 30th birthday to be exact (which was in Oct) that i was tired of saying I want to be able to do that one day.  I decided it was time that the only way I was going to achieve anything I want is to just start doing it.  I don't want to wake up later on and be thinking awe I wish I had done that when I was younger.
One of things I really what to do is be at my all time best in health and fitness.  I really want to be  able to still be active later on when I am a lot older, still enjoying the beautiful island that I live on.  So I start by telling Jon  I was ready to get moving.  He was really excited we have always been somewhat active, we really love just being at the beach and going on hikes.  We got a membership to the Kroc center, they have a wonderful child watch center so I can easily drop off my little princess and  prince while I go workout.  I usually go while Jonjon my kindergartener is in school so I only have to pay for my two youngers.  I have been going pretty consistly since Oct.  I absolutely love going into the classes that they offer.
When I saw that there was going to be this challenge I just saw an opportunity to do more.  Its so much fun to see so many other on their own journey to living a fit active life.  The first week is the move week.  On day 1 I had to show one of my favorite way to sweat.  For me is going to spin and Brazillan GAL class.  I recently discovered spin, my bestie from Texas finely came to visit back in Nov and she told me how she likes to go to spin a lot so I just went one day and I just love it.  I really do ended up sweating quite a bit in these classes.
Day 2 Change it UP!!!! On this day I chose a High intensity Circuit workout!!!  I really felt this workout.  THese are the kind of exercise that my husband really likes to do. I ended up really concentrating on my arms too since I get legs done the previous day.
Day 3 Get Planking!!!!  I had to to hold plank for 5 mintues on this day!!! I still ended up going to the gym and I went into the Body combat class.  I can't hold plank for 5 whole minutes yet so I ended up breaking it up.  I did High plank for 30s and low plank for 30s, then each side for 30 each then I repeated it. Then low plank and high plank again later on.
Day 4 Buddy Up!!!!   I really tried to get my friends to come out and workout with me on this day, but unfortunately the two people that I  know would have joined me, were busy.  Jon had to work and Angel had to got out of town.  So it ended up being just me at the gym in my classes but later during the evening I did some yoga with my beautiful babies and Mele my Lab.  They are great at just supporting mommy as I attempt to do so many different yoga poses.
Day 5 Show us your 5 fit Favirotes!! For me these what keeps me moving is my Husband Jon. I want to look good for him and not only that but I want him to be proud of me, he is my #1 supporter.  My Kids keep me moving as well literally. They always having me running, just trying to keep up with them. I want to be a good role model for them. The other things are my running  shoes, just love my nikes!!!! My Ipod mini just because you have to have great music to move to. Then my Yoga mat. Yoga is one of my new loves. I plan to just continue practicing and hopefully get better.
So loving this challenge and I am ready for the next week.
